BHP Laboratories is an independent test facility providing a wide range of engineering and scientific measuring, testing, and analysing services to numerous industries throughout Ireland and the UK.

BHP was founded in 1978 and remains an independent family owned and operated business. We have over 45 years’ experience in delivering to our customers an uncompromising personalised service with measurements they can trust, on time. Our customers include pharmaceutical and medical device industries, food industries, manufacturing industries, construction industries, government agencies and local authorities.

We employ over one hundred people at our main laboratory in Limerick and in our satellite offices in Cork and Dublin.

BHP is an INAB 17025 accredited testing laboratory and is listed as an approved laboratory submitting data to the EPA. Our long standing in-house culture of laboratory testing excellence brings rigorous inspection procedures and high standards of quality control to all our operations, products and services.

BHP Laboratories was one of the first laboratories in Ireland to achieve ISO 17025 accreditation from the Irish National Accreditation Board (INAB) in 2002. We have expanded our scope of accreditation every year since, and are an EPA-approved laboratory for environmental data submission. Our commitment to quality is embedded in everything we do – from sample collection to final report.
